SPEAKER_05

Hey! Welcome to the show to it. I'm Tony. I'm Rochelle. Um, so apparently Env got really upset about us the last time we didn't introduce ourselves.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, as if no one knows who we are.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly. I don't know what his issue is. I know. Like everyone knows me. Yeah. I couldn't even go into Hannaford's today. I had to leave.

SPEAKER_06

Uh people are like mobbing you and yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like, don't hey! And I'm just like, uh Yeah, it was bad. Anyways, welcome to the short of it. Um, the short of it is our new podcast, and we love our new podcast because we get to celebrate short films, filmmakers of short content, and um just the whole process of filmmaking because that's what we love to do.

SPEAKER_06

Correct.

SPEAKER_05

And we are short. That's the other part of it.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, we so it has a double meaning. It's short films, and we're short.

SPEAKER_05

And we also have um a short temper. Yeah, definitely short tempered. Yeah, yeah. You didn't have to look at me when you said that.

SPEAKER_06

It was not necessarily. It wasn't noted at you. No, it was not directed at you. It was me just like looking at you, like projecting. No, not projecting.

SPEAKER_05

I feel, I just feel it right now. No, you know, there's no projecting.

SPEAKER_06

No, no, no. No, I just was looking at you as is customary in Western culture. When you're speaking to someone, you look at them in the eye. I got it. And if you don't, people might get suspicious. Yeah, yeah. Kyle's really bored of our bullshit. I know. I'm like, what? Yeah, I'm just gonna cut it. I'm looking at the frame.

SPEAKER_01

I see the poster right behind Bramber's head. I'm like, nice production.

SPEAKER_05

That's a great man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So listen, we have Kyle Lindforce on today, another FSU. Uh I can call you an alum now.

SPEAKER_01

I guess so.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah. Because you did it. That's what I read in the paper. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Something to do, right?

SPEAKER_05

Um, filmmaker, um, extraordinaire. Um just uh a very serious guy. Yeah, I try my best. He just it's it's gonna be a very low energy today because Kyle's just so serious. But hey, how are you?

SPEAKER_01

I'm doing all right these days. How's it been since graduation? It's been alright. It's been pretty hot. Um I've been broke. I spent like $10,000 on my movie that I need money for.

SPEAKER_06

Um we'll we'll be sure and link to your seed and spark so that that you can perhaps gain some uh because that's what we do at the end of the day. That's what the home girls do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

It's trying to I it's like trying to enter this phase of um, I mean, like I'm the type like I'd be satisfied if I dunked all my money into this and like I made no money, but it was really good, you know. But it's like, geez, that's not really feasible if I want to keep making shit. So uh I'm trying to surround myself with folks who can make me money and investors and give me money, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I can actually give you a really great path, and that is marry into wealth.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's actually so we have a couple my mom has we have a couple family friends, and yeah, I've been like, I don't want to go, yeah. There's some rich, yeah. Every time, anytime I see someone with like a like house or something, that's just like, hey, can I talk to you? Yeah, like so.

SPEAKER_05

You're kind of cute.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, pretty much, yeah. It's just like, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Do you have an age range that you're looking for for these rich people?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, anything uh I don't want to be on no list, you know, but um you know, like some other people, but um yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

He's not on the list.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

He is on the list. I know. No, no, no. They were just they were just friends. They were just friends. Friends.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, my age range, okay. I'm 23, so I used to have this rule where it was like um I fucking forget. It was like 20 minus some. I think, okay, 18's fucked up, 19's fucked, can't go below 20, can't blow blow. Can't I can't go below 21, I don't think. 21 and up. That's what we're at right now.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, but is there an upper limit? I think is more what Tony was asking. Oh, so yeah, Cougar's okay.

SPEAKER_01

Cougar's okay right now. Interesting. Well, I'll tell you. I was walking in Hampton Beach the other day, and I met um a woman in her 50s, and she was a fucking witch, and she pulled over. I could pull up her Facebook, but she did like these like spells on me, and she put my negative aura into this woman who honked at us going by, and she had all these tattoos, and it was really fucking sick, and she said, you know, I'm a witch. And that's when you were like, Oh, can I have your number? I got her Facebook, I guess. I wasn't really interested in flirting, but you know, yeah. Fucking witch, that'd be kind of cool, you know. It might be a good one. Some tarot cards, maybe a black cat. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, but but how does if you're a witch, do you necessarily have money?

SPEAKER_01

That's the other. Well, that's a comment. Oh, but that's why I'm not many in her, you know. Oh, yeah, exactly. No, exactly, like Shrek, yeah, like or Shump, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Um what's that movie it's called? Like, isn't it Simple Witches, where there's two sisters that live in this massive house? I have no idea. You've never seen that? Nope. Sandra Bullock, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, get get out. I don't know. Well, I know there's this hocus pocus, but Or is it simple magic? I don't fucking know. Is it Labyrinth? There's a goblin. There's a goblin king and left. Is it the Wizard of Oz? Yeah, right. Oh, is it wicked? Oh my god. There's fucking but they're making another one too. It's like Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_06

No, but they didn't finish the whole pair. Oh, you should. It's really, really magnificent.

SPEAKER_01

I know, I know, you know, but for the can't make fun of that. Oh, I'm a white guy. I don't care. I'm telling you, the books are better. The books are better. Oh, woman casts. WNBA. You know?

SPEAKER_05

You better stop that. Do you send all hate mail to Kyle Lindfords? You can find him on Instagram. But listen, flashing on the screen. It should be we will have it. We'll have your email on there to the people. Um, you know, you you you're new in your career. You were, you know, you you've done a lot of great stuff already, which is amazing. Shout out to FSU commedia department who really makes filmmakers. Um, you know, what was it about film that interested you?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, this homie's been on film since like middle school, you know. I I I remember making um the big showdown uh when I was in middle school, which was about my John Cena and big show action figures coming to life and we and we wrestled. Um that's unf that's a lost film. That's like a that's like that's that's like that's like London after midnight, you know. That's fucking that's that's like a treasured lost. Um I don't know, to be all artsy, I uh you know, to be pretentious, I don't know. I like artistic expression, and I think that film is really the uh the the current um uh expression, you know what I mean? I also like making fucking clay animals, fucking melting stain glass. Um I like shit, you know what I mean? I just think that film is just one of my forms of expression, and it just happens to get some attention, so it's like, oh that's cool, you know what I mean? I'll keep my poetry in my box under my bed and I'll just release films, you know, because that seems to seems to be popular. Yeah, you know?

SPEAKER_06

I think people like poetry as well.

SPEAKER_01

Uh fucking sappy middles uh you should see my um middle school poems or my high school even.

SPEAKER_06

We would very much like to see your middle school. Do you have one now? Yeah, because you like to recite it.

SPEAKER_01

Let's do this. We've never done this on the short of it. This is awesome. They're really sappy.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Hang on, I gotta go find a good one.

SPEAKER_05

Middle school, please. Yeah, we want middle school. The younger, the creepier, the better.

SPEAKER_01

Hang on. This you're gonna have to cut this down. Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

SPEAKER_05

Um Dis.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, I can't find them.

SPEAKER_05

I was trying to do that. Oh, you totally baked us. Wait, I'm sorry! You're not sure.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, wait, wait, wait, wait. Poems, yeah. Oh god. We're Googling poems now. Just scroll my notes. See if you I remember because I remember shame on the night was a term. It was pretty much like um, if I will, if I can remember some terms off the top of my head, it was like Oh, I wear a mask. I'm gonna find like or like, oh, the the shards of broken emotion glisten off the fucking lake, you know. That's deep. Yeah, or like um I I had an obsession with the word mourning for a little while, M-O-U-R. Um well with I well, I was been mourning the past few years, but um, or the past you two years, but um I I thought it was clever, like oh, I'll switch up morning and morning, you know what I mean? M-O-R and M O U R.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you did that recently in a few years. I did that on morning night, yeah. So I guess I still thought it was clever, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I stole that from um I stole that from uh Stappy High School poems as you know, very deep facts.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think that's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's fine, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's like you're stealing from yourself. So it's okay.

SPEAKER_01

It's not really stealing, it's just well I think all forms of art, you're just gonna steal shit, you know what I mean? Like I know like I fucking steal shit, you know what I mean? Steal it, just don't throw it into AI, that's a bit stale. But um, or maybe do that a little bit. But um it's like an it's like fucking Bumpy the Clown, you know? It's like okay, let's take some fucking John Waters and let's take some fucking Ronald McDonald and just steal shit, you know what I mean? Yeah, it creates its own thing, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. So look you you mentioned Bumpy, and that's the that's what you wanted to show today, right? Is uh clip from Bumpy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's do it.

SPEAKER_06

Um so yeah, that's do you want to set this up or do is it?

SPEAKER_01

Well Biden, uh I mean Biden is uh Freedron slip. Um Bumpy the Clown, um he's just your typical American, I think. I think he represents about what is it, maybe 38% of the country right now. Um he's got red red hair, he's all red. Um like you know, like MAGA. Yeah. Um I don't know, I just think it's it's um it's fucking bumpy. There's really no way to explain it now, is there? Well, I mean you could I I think it's in his it's a clown uh probably in his forties. He lives in his mom's basement. Um big big trumper. Um he likes junk food. And he's just he's just telling it like it is in this clip. That's the best way I can put it. Just telling it like it is.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

Leave me alone. Friend of mine 25 fucking years just died. But yeah. Yeah, I feel comfortable. I'll do your interview. You wanna talk about my bitch, mom? Doesn't do anything for me. Oh my god, your friends were running like flies in the sky.

SPEAKER_02

Never got the clown fashion. Dad was the one that always took me to the shows, circus.

SPEAKER_03

You interview mom? I'll forgive you shit. I'm not clowning around. Use your blinker asshole!

SPEAKER_02

Only reason why I rolled with it, cute animals, you know, circus humans. Take pictures, send me Polaroids and shit. Fuck. I don't know, I not my thing.

SPEAKER_03

Back in the day she bought me short. But once the money runs a little dry, following my dreams is a big stupid waste of time. Just get the light. Feel the dreams, completely fucking mowed.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that's capitalism for you.

SPEAKER_06

Thanks, Biden. That was that was um quite hilarious. Uh I have another word for it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you do, like and and and I've known Kyle for a couple of years, so let me just say that. And um, and I I I love him. I I think you're fantastic. It was a little disturbing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, I mean, it I make some dark shit, you know. I mean, well, I started in high school doing um just like comedies and shit like that, and I always kind of wanted to do horror, you know, like any fucking again, white kid, you know, big surprise. I want to do horror, that's original, you know. Um can we make fun of you if you're making fun of yourself?

SPEAKER_06

That's right. Yeah, yeah, no. My job is. Yeah, literally, like Jesus. We can't roast your guys' work for you. Yeah, like what we might as well not even well.

SPEAKER_01

It's like um uh Bumpy was like the first to try to transition towards that with black comedy and such, you know. Um, and I don't yeah, okay, there kind of is serious themes of like the motherfucking relationship and stuff like that. Um I don't know. You know, it fucking works.

SPEAKER_05

And your and your mom plays the mom.

SPEAKER_01

And my friend's dad plays the clown. Yeah, no professional actors, by the way. That's my my my mom and your mom is awesome. I high school subs. Yeah, shout out to Don. Yeah, my dad. My mom and dad are awesome.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, mom and dad are awesome. So I don't know your dad, but shout out to him. He's pressing, he's a good guy. All right. Um, so who is Bumpy in your life, or is that just something that came out of the city?

SPEAKER_01

Bumpy, he was oh he oh, I wanted Bumpy the clown for years. I had that shit in my head. This fucking miserable ass clown. There was like early drafts of um, it was him like stealing like a lottery ticket and shit like that. Just like fucking different shit, you know. And then I got into college, and then the idea was in high school, I sort of um I I released these things in high school, and I sort of the I hate to use the term popularity, but you know, all of a sudden people say hi to you in the hallway, and it's like, oh shit, you know. Um and then when I got to Fitchburg, it was strange because it's like, no, give it back. Um so I kind of just speed run that, and the goal was to make something so fucking like you cannot ignore this, you know what I mean? So there came the the you know, oh I'll put uh visual shit in the movie and throw up and bumpy the clown, you know what I mean.

SPEAKER_06

Um there's so many things that should not work.

SPEAKER_01

Well it's very but they do it's very just like fucking just throw it at the wall, you know what I mean? And I I think with Bumpy more than my other pro I think Bumpy's my favorite project I've done because I think I like my other I love my other ones too, but I think you see like the fucking there's some creativity fucking oozing off of that shit, you know what I mean? Like look at the frame, you know what I mean? Yeah, you got some fucking cats in there, you got some fucking hot dogs, you know what I mean? Like it's fucking all you got grimace from the comments. Lots of corndogs, too, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

The corndogs I think are really bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was so fun with um I think that was like a good balance too of um. I mean, now the sets are all fucking professional, you know what I mean? It's like, oh, you know, let's do a quick lighting setup and it takes like 10 minutes, you know. Um, which it did there, no, it didn't on Bumpy. But um, you know, I think that was sort of the last one where it was like um super duper Kyle solo effort, you know what I mean? Yeah, where these last ones I've kind of had other folks hop on. Um I'm still absolutely overwhelmed and don't have enough people working for me. You shouldn't reach out, people um but yeah though, I think that was um like you know just a solo Kyle script too. Like I didn't like collaborate with any well exactly, Zachally helped out. But I mean for the most part though, like all the ideas and shit. Like well in the original draft he had like a tapeworm, which I quite liked, which is why he has a tummy ache the whole time. Um which it ended up getting cut just because the line delivery wasn't good. Um, which leads me to I could do a whole do a whole nother tangent of how I think um the creative process in general, I think I'm doing it with my my current film, is that you know it's like when you write the script, you know, I always want to encourage actors and such, like, yo, if you have any ideas, let's fucking hear them or fucking throw them out, you know. Or like you don't have to be married to these lines word for word, you know. You're just trying to convey a certain theme or story which we can go over and motivations and such. Um and I I think in Bumpy you kind of saw that where especially in Bumpy, where um the script and the edit, you know, same thing with the edit, it's like writing the fucking movie again, you know? Because I mean like you've cut lines, cut this, cut that, move this over here, you know what I mean? Um I think Bumpy more than anything, like morning night. If you look at the script and you look at the film, it's pretty fucking it's it's there, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_05

Like let's talk about morning light. Um, because this is the current movie that you're working on. No, that's the second the movie he's working on now.

SPEAKER_01

Morning night is the one. Yeah, so nobody could remember the title, and no still nobody can. Everyone thinks it's morning light because uh it's a poor title, but but um it used to be in the morning night, but it's like uh so fucking ugh, you know, four words, like Jesus Christ, you know. Um I I feel like morning night, you know. Morning night. Morning night, you know? In the morning, that's four. Yeah. Five syllables in the morning.

SPEAKER_06

No, I mean I I my my film that I'm writing now has five words. So is that bad? What is the title? I'm not gonna say so anything right now.

SPEAKER_05

Well you told me, you told me. So I my film has uh Do you roll that?

SPEAKER_01

Well fucking well that works though, you know? I mean, because in the morning it's like what is it gonna be called? Remember me. That could actually be kind of cool. But do you remember me works though, you know what I mean? Um yeah. Bumpy the clown just worked. And this, I mean, let's well, I think a title is so important, you know. Um It is. I mean, like, you know, um one of Tony Tony's favorite movies actually, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was originally called um it was originally called Head Cheese, you know? No, it was not well before it was released, you know, but then someone said like, hey, that's a fucking terrible title. And you know, it's called the title, because oh, you watch the movie and they talk about head cheese, you know, it's when you fucking kill a cow with a bolt. Um yeah, right?

SPEAKER_07

That's awful. I know. Edit that out.

SPEAKER_01

What is we should do that to yeah, never mind. We should do that to somebody.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we don't we don't need ice coming up.

SPEAKER_01

No, but anyhow though, um but that title fucking sucks, and it's like, oh, it makes sense after you watch the movie, but you know, Texas Chainsaw, it's like, gee, that makes me want to fucking watch the movie, and it's a good description. Whereas with this next one, um, look at me hopping around. Well, with the new movie, I based it off um uh A Temporary Matter by Jumpa Lahiri. I have no idea if I'm pronouncing her name right, but I think I am, I would assume, looking at the spelling. Um, which I read back in uh my fucking Mr. Luther, my English teacher's high school class. Um he had us read these short stories. He was a great teacher, by the way. Um had us read lots of good shit and just helped with creativity and expression and stuff like that. But um uh a temporary matter, and it's about this cu this couple who goes through a miscarriage, you know, and they're like, shit, this is really fucking hard. Look at us human beings, and at the same time, I'm going, gee, you know, I'm a 20-year-old white kid, and I can't I've never experienced this, so let's not fucking write about something I've never, you know, fucking known about. So, you know, that leads to me having co-writers and talking to people who have gone through this sort of thing. Now, to be fair, they're all men, and I think a miscarriage is more of a woman's story, but I'll take what I'll take what I can get. You know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, is that like I I I think that there's a lot of um pressure in the film industry to only make film, especially if you're a white man. You can only make films that are about white men.

SPEAKER_01

Well it's like if I'm a gay dwarf, you know, it's like I want to write a movie about one, but I can't, you know what I mean? Yeah. Not that there's anything wrong with being dwarfing. Gay horror dwarf, yeah. I don't know any, but they're fucking awesome, I hear, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Better than regular gays.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. I agree. They kind of just I don't feel like I can even like get into this conversation.

SPEAKER_06

Um you're using miscarriage though as a metaphor.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's a metaphor for real hurt, you know? Because I mean this guy's been going through some fucking grief these past couple, you know, just fucking people dying, like Jesus Christ, you know. Yeah. Left and right. Oh my god, horrific. Um there's a little bit of a big thing. Well, yeah, but I don't yeah, yeah, but I don't want to write a fucking like, oh, let's write a story about Kyle Linforce sitting in his college door and being fucking sad. Like, that's so fucking stale, you know what I mean? Yeah. Like at the same time, I'm reading HP Lovecraft and I'm reading um Clive Barker and Poppy Z Bright and all these really fucking cool, you know, horror authors, you know. Again, there's the 20-year-old white kid reading horror. But um, you know, it's like, let's let's fucking let's take the whole palette, you know what I mean? I think every day is sort of like this little experience sort of thing where you get these different paints on your palette, and it's just like, hey, these are my experiences from today. Like, no matter what it is, whether it's me stubbing my toe or reading this fucking book, all they're looking for is just inspiration for the next project, you know. I think my whole emotions just kind of run off, like artsy projects. I was talking with um the Bumpy the Clown actor, who's also a good music composer and producer, etc., Eric Blomster, about it. And we kind of run the same way where it's like in a year, it's like, okay, I'll spend like four months or six or eight. Months or whatever, like fucking diehard on this project, like octopus right now, which needs a title, which I should round back to. But um, but then you know, but then there's like the four months off, like after it's done, and it's just like, oh shit. Well, I oh my god, was that it? You know, it's over, you know. But then it's like, gee, I'm a fucking piece of shit. You know, like what the fuck am I doing? You know, you sitting around and until the next one starts and it just repeats, you know. Yeah. Um, it's just the way it goes, I suppose. Which is kind of rounds back to the, you know, I put like ten thousand dollars into this one, so I kinda need it to work if I'm gonna have mental health after it, you know, or just you know, for creation of projects. I mean, I'm used to shoestring shoestring budgets, but um you know, I'd rather fucking up my game if I can, which I am with this one and I'd like to in the future, you know. Yeah. Yeah. It's just all the fucking fun business stuff.

SPEAKER_05

You know, film festivals and stuff with your work?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Well, I I've gotten into I mean like uh, you know, IFFB and um all these fucking local ones, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Uh you you won a pretty big one, sorry, producer. That's okay.

SPEAKER_01

Uh in a inter um that was that wasn't international lol. It was independent film festival, Boston, which was a pretty big one, I think. Um And we were talking talking about Access Film Fest.

SPEAKER_05

Is that last year?

SPEAKER_01

I think that was this year.

SPEAKER_05

In the spring? You won a big one this this spring.

SPEAKER_01

Well I'm happy to for myself.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Good. What did you win? An award?

SPEAKER_05

It was best director, I thought.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, it was uh that was Access Film Fest. It was like we won all of it. It was like best director, best cinematographer.

SPEAKER_07

That was huge. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I I think well it was also I was talking with my co-writer, Mr. Ogden, who's a former high school teacher of mine, just about um like validation and stuff, you know, and we were talking where it's like you know, it's like if this like my new movie, like if it got really huge and stuff, it'd probably just be like, oh, yeah, that's cool. I don't know, you know, it's like I try not to um or it's not even that I try not to, I just don't really I can't reflect on shit like that, you know what I mean? It's just like I don't know, it's all about ego, I suppose, and I think that when people's egos get out of control, it's like Jesus Christ, you know, that's the death of everything is ego on a set in fucking life, like whatever. Gee, you know, read some fucking Buddha and Hinduism, you know. Yeah. Um I don't know. So I kind of take the awards and it's like, oh yeah, it's cool. Not that I don't appreciate it, you know, but I mean you know, I worked on it. Well, I worked on it and I I know the quality. I make my movies and I make my art for me to enjoy. Not to be selfish about it, but I think also I think an artist being selfish is actually more beneficial for the audience because once you start making something for the audience, you're caving to fucking bullshit. You are absolutely you are. Um so it's like, okay, when like my movie is done and like if I love it, I love it, you know what I mean? And it's like I don't need an award or a million views to tell me that, yeah. Which is kind of where I'm coming from, where it's like I'm putting all this money into it for what? Like for me personally, it's just to make something cool. Yeah, like I'm really I really don't genuinely think about like, oh, I better make some money off this. Yeah, but I fucking have to, you know, unfortunately, which is why again I'm trying to surround myself with folks that can kind of just like do that shit for me. Because I think the dream is just to be somewhere where you can just artistically fucking create and not have to worry about that shit. Yeah, that would be another country though. Yeah, I know. The United States does not support us. I know. We'll talk about yeah, a film tariff that he seems to have just forgotten about. So let's just not let's just not mention it to the fucking moron. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're not gonna talk about that. No. Um I mean not the fucking moron, the uh the great leader. Um, I'm sorry. Um uh oh yeah, maybe I'm gonna move to Portugal with Zach Lee, I think.

SPEAKER_06

Portugal.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Their prizes are are half of um how. He was talking about Portugal, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Does he know that you plan to join him?

SPEAKER_01

No, he's got a ruin awakening. Um well, I heard that the Portuguese, though, they they're starting to hate fucking stupid US people movies. Everyone hates Americans. All foreigners. Yeah, now we're all fleeing, so it's like we're going over there, you know, and it's just like get out of here. Yeah, literally. Like, what are you doing? And not to mention we're kicking them out of their housing, you know, because we're coming over and we're fucking their economy. And but hey, what are you gonna do?

SPEAKER_06

I can't really Well, you stay here and fight. I mean What's there to fight for? The country. Let's get your work. Well, I know, I know. Or I could just leave.

SPEAKER_01

Well, but you know, I mean, I go to protests, I film them, I spread them. No, I know you do.

SPEAKER_06

I know you do a lot. I I'm aware of that, but it's like that that's sort of where I always go. It's like I I gotta get out of here. This is ridiculous. I don't want to be here anymore. And but then I'm like, wait, why do I have to leave? I was born here.

SPEAKER_01

This is like Hulk Hogan would be proud of us right now. What do you think? You know, the American in us. I can I can see you have the flag beneath your shirt.

SPEAKER_06

There's no flag, there's no flag. Yeah, um I'm not but I just feel you know, why am I forced to leave my own country? Like that's really you don't you don't like that? No, I do not.

SPEAKER_01

Well, for me, when I when I say oh I gotta get out of this country, I just go to Hampton Beach and just fucking just chill, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Walk on the boardwalk.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, pretty much, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, fucking chill, you know. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um what's what's next? You know, what what else do you have coming up? Um so you you are shooting temporary murder or you already finished shooting.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, so we're finished. Well, I lied. We're like halfway finished. Okay. Um the uh what a fucking production.

SPEAKER_05

I read that script, by the way, and I was just blown away just so you know.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks. Um well, we're trying to cut it down right now. I think the final draft is like 33 pages. But just looking at festivals and shit, like 30 minutes is such a fucking awkward time. I've cut it down to like 25 pages, but I think 20 to 25 is gonna be the range. Um the production was fucking crazy. It came out fucking amazing, but such highlights as no my makeup artist is fucking amazing, by the way. Shit happens. But you know, waking up on the second day to my makeup artist saying that she has COVID and that um all of the makeup molds uh melted in the sun was pretty devastating. V, our producer, I was staying at Yo House, yeah, and he saw the devastation on me.

SPEAKER_00

I could feel the str the stress was palpable. Oh, I'm sure it was. I didn't want to cut it with a knife.

SPEAKER_01

I was living here, living, I was living in this kid's living room and just I was just like in a ball of stress and like tears and sweat every night. The joy of filming. Yeah, tell me about it. Yeah. That's it.

SPEAKER_06

Like when you're in the middle of it, you're like, I'm never doing this again. This is awful.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'll tell you, I was thinking on this. I was thinking on the second day, I'm like, shit, I can't do this, you know. Like, I'm not fucking cut out for this. Jesus Christ, you know. Yeah. But I think it's worth it after the uh like that. But I it's like um um, erm, hang on, it's gonna come. No, it's gone.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, but it is you do reach that point where you're like, I don't know, why am I not just working in an office where I can punch a clock? Yeah, right. You don't have to think about it when I walk away. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Well, well then the the it comes out though, and it's like, oh, that's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and then you're like, oh wow, actually I made something. Yeah, right. Nobody can really take that away. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think too, I mean, it's like I can personally judge all of my projects, you know, and like have like you know, critiques and stuff, but I feel like the quality is it's it's a nice little we've got a nice little arc going on right now, you know. Um I mean like I say I like Bumpy better than morning night. I think morning night, um, I think like cinematography wise. Uh John Waters said that if you the first thing you mention is cinematography, it's a bad movie. But um I mean it looks really fucking nice, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. I just I just think like the acting is really good too. That too is fucking amazing. Mary Perselzo. Whoo! Yeah fucking beast. So isn't Paul Noonan and also the fucking vampire dude. Fucking uh Will Mattis was fucking creepy as fuck. Really fun to work with.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he nailed it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um I think I just it just script wise, you know, it's it's always just you know self-critiques and such, you know. And it's just like, gee, you know, you made a fucking My Chemical Romance, like emo fucking five-line 20-minute movie, like you know what I mean? Like who, you know, Jesus.

SPEAKER_06

I think that's a little reductive.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but you know, it's kind of the way I view it, I suppose. And it's no it's no fucking, of course, you know, it's you know, the only aspect that could be critiqued exclusively on me and nobody else, you know. Yeah. Um because I think the acting and everything was, you know, just amazing, you know. And it's kind of to that point where it's like, okay, like whatever I write now, I can um I can I can um you know, whatever's on paper, like it comes out, you know. And we're kind of at that point where before in high school it was kind of like, okay, what I have on paper, it's gonna come out like a little differently, you know, I'm gonna have to make some exceptions. But now it's kind of to the point where it's like, you know, if you have the resources, which I need, uh you know, it's like shit just comes out and it's like, oh shit, that's fucking awesome, you know? Yeah. Especially when the ideas are like thought through and stuff like that. And I think um you know, it's like with temporary matter. So it's called temporary matter right now, but that's just what the the short story was called, so I don't really want to fucking call it that. Right. Some other title my co-writer wants to call it Thulu. Like, thank heaven you love yourself, and then Thulu as like the thing. I feel like I don't care.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna I'm gonna say hard no on that one. Yeah, I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Well it's like I think it's fine. No, I don't, but it's just like it's it's just a tough, you know, because I mean it's like when you're combining like a Lovecraftian sort of fucking tentacle monster horror with such a serious topic as you know, fucking, you know, losing a child, you know. Um there's a fine line, you know, and it's just like you know, like directly mentioning like, oh, this monster is named Cthulhu. It's just like Yeah, you know, it's almost like kind of B movie territory. It's like it's like having a zombie or a fucking mummy walk in, you know. Yeah, um it's tough though, you know what I mean? It's it's like the I was talking about with titles earlier, you know, trying to find a good title that you know you kind of get the idea from reading it, but it's also not you know fucking stupid, you know. It's tough, you know?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, any good title ideas.

SPEAKER_06

Octopus, I think, is really good.

SPEAKER_01

Octopussy could be the title. Octopusy, yeah, yeah. Oh wait, there's a movie.

SPEAKER_06

There's a movie that's called. Which is a fucking shame, isn't it? Yeah, it is a shame because what a great title. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_01

That's uh you know what gets get out, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I wasn't a big James Bond fan. Never? No, my mom loves James Bond, so I agree. My grandmother.

SPEAKER_01

Makes me want to jump over crocodiles, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Um, so we're winding down, and I would be remiss if I didn't ask some of these um questions that our producer V has so much. Why? We always ignore his questions. I know, but I actually like it. Right. It's one of the dance we do here at the short of the book. I like this one. Um so where do you see yourself five now five years from now?

SPEAKER_01

Well I've never been asked that, I don't think. Wow. What did you think?

SPEAKER_06

Way to go, V. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was expecting to. I was like, okay, she's like asking, it's probably gonna be a good one, you know. Like, is the next one where do I see myself ten years from now?

SPEAKER_06

Yes, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I see myself probably chilling on Hampton Beach. I don't know, fucking writing a script. I don't know. You know, if I make some money fucking somewhere else, you know. I I mean I joke, I mean like I joke about leaving the country. I you know, I wouldn't I don't think I would do that.

SPEAKER_06

I would like you would not leave Don Linforce behind.

SPEAKER_01

Or Don Donnie behind.

SPEAKER_06

Um wait, your dad's name is Don?

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm talking about Donald Trump. Oh, Donnie!

SPEAKER_06

Okay, I'm like, that's weird.

SPEAKER_01

No, I wouldn't I wouldn't leave my dad behind either. His name is Bob. Okay. What's up Bob? You know? Bob or Spinny, you know. Um we're um um I or yeah um Hampton Beach. Five years from now. Hampton Beach. Um but if if we make money though, you know, probably just fucking I don't know. I just want a space where I can just fucking creative space, like a studio or some shit, you know what I mean? An art studio. Like let's chill here, you know what I mean? Yeah, like let's have some people here and just like write, get a whiteboard up.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? They have like they have artists' housing that's really nice. Like in the way they've converted it as well. Well it's fucking awesome. Yeah, there's really good studios.

SPEAKER_01

The homie the real ones know. Um fuck. I always I have these tangents and I go somewhere and I forget. Uh yeah, I mean, pretty much just you know, just fucking creating shit. Um makes me happy. Yeah, really creating. Yeah. Um oh my god, it keeps coming back. Fuck! It keeps coming back, the thought. What? I have a thought and it's right there.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. Is there something I can do to help? Um I I don't know what to do. Laxative? Laxative.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, it's coming out. Yeah, wait. Um, I was talking about and then I was gonna be creating stuff, and it's gone. Yeah. Ah. Well, I think I pretty much already said it, you know, like, yeah, I'm gonna be creative, you know, I like shit. You know?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So where can people find you work?

SPEAKER_01

Uh it's just Kyle Lint Force on YouTube and Instagram, L-I-N-D, F-O-R-S. Um, popular misspellings include Lint Force as my favorite. As in Lint and like C E, like the Force. Um I like that. Yeah, I do too. Um Lint S.

SPEAKER_06

That's what you should call your movie, Lint Force. Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_01

That might actually be it. That's not bad. Yeah, Lint Force, yeah. It's the Lint of uh sadness or something like that, you know? Yeah. Lint of sorrow. Yeah, there you go. That'll be good. That'll be good. That'll be good.

SPEAKER_05

It can be in horror, like with no. I mean, not not that I wouldn't work with Kyle. I love Kyle, but um anyway. I have worked with Kyle. I have worked with Kyle. Oh yeah, I should shout out, yes. You were a production designer on Do You Remember Me? And and Head of Makeup and Wardrobe because Well, we'll leave it there.

SPEAKER_01

Um we'll just keep that private. Yeah, we should um yeah, we should get some other cast members from that on the show, you know? Like that was a that wouldn't be a bad call out, you know?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I don't know. Um anyways, thank you for coming on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the memory of Ozzie Osborne, by the way. Of course. He just died yesterday. Yeah, I could tell it affected Tony really badly. I could tell.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. No. I watched his his reality show.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that was awesome. I didn't watch it. I like the clip from it. It hurt it hurts my soul. Yeah. That's my story. And then Hulk Hogan died to him, whatever. Yeah, you know, racist, whatever. Yeah. It's fine. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. He used to be tag team with Cindy Lopper.

unknown

Hulk.

SPEAKER_01

Uh he Osborne. He teamed with like uh Drake the Snake and Alice Cooper and stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And what's her name? Lena Lita Ford.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I know you you watch lots of I know you and actually all the professors are you know into WWE a lot, so I'm surprised you don't. That's a lie. I'm surprised you don't know more about that. Yeah. Well, Tony, you went to you went to Mania this year, didn't you? Mercal Mania?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I was right there. Yeah. Spit was just coming in. Yeah, Cody Cena, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Team Cody over here. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

He became an actor, which was really a bad move.

SPEAKER_01

He was in Superman, John Cena.

SPEAKER_05

The new one? Yeah. I'm not ever watching that. I don't blame you. R.I.P. Christopher Reef. Exactly. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That's another one that hurts. Yeah. You know? Oh, Christopher Reeve. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Especially the tragic fucking wild as a horse.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. Is that in bad taste? I think it might be.

SPEAKER_01

But most everything I say is in bad taste. I feel like I'm just gonna like freeze after I say that, not move ever again, you know.

SPEAKER_07

Oh my gosh. Anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Kind of like uh, you know, um, I'm sure he was real jealous of uh Christopher Walken later on, you know. I love you. All right. He was a great guy, you know. Well, I have a Christopher Reeve story. Um, Bumpy the Clown, um, he um it was either him, we're gonna say it was him. It definitely wasn't a friend of his, but when he was a wee lad, he was in um I think it was New York, um Times it wasn't Times Square, it was Central Park. And uh Simon and Garf uncle were doing a show there as like a free charity thing. And then he was there as like a six-year-old, and then fucking Christopher Reeves was next to him and he put him up on his shoulders. What's up, kid? Yeah, that's pretty cool. That's pretty cool. Yeah, that's a good story. Yep, good story. Thank you. This one's for I remember the concert.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, well, there you go. Then Christopher Reeves was there, so sick. All right.

SPEAKER_01

This one's for Chris.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks, thanks, Reeves. This one's for Chris.

SPEAKER_05

Um all right. Well, thank you for being on. Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks, guys. Yeah, thanks. Yeah, yeah, it was great. Yeah, rock and roll. Thanks. I appreciate it. You know, check out my stuff if you want.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, definitely check out his stuff because wow. It's good. It is good. Bumpy rolls. Yeah, bumpy.

SPEAKER_01

Bumpy! Yeah, Chris Christopher Reeves.

SPEAKER_05

So, why do young white um college students only want to do horror? Like, why? What is that? Um, I don't know. It's cool, fun. Okay. Uh yeah, I don't know. Is it similar to never mind, I'm not gonna say that because all my black people will hate me. Um anyways, that I was just wondering because that's what I experienced um at FSU. And I'm experiencing a little bit in grad school. So it's just it's it's a phenomenon. I yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I know I I there was a guy that I was in grad school with, and he um actually made a living by making like B horror movies and selling them. And he made a decent living doing it. And I I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

So Kyle has a shot.

SPEAKER_06

Kyle has absolutely a shot.

SPEAKER_07

He could also be a live, shouldn't say that, but there are other ways to make um yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I was gonna say that. I I I yeah, I'm real rough stuff. I shouldn't, I shouldn't have. I that would have that's not appropriate. Yeah. Just kidding.

SPEAKER_00

Your name could be like Kyle Linger's. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05
